Ofsted's new approach to apprenticeships 17/12/19 - London

If you are responsible for apprenticeship quality and preparing for a visit from Ofsted, this is one of those 'not to be missed' training days.

With an 'insufficient progress' from Ofsted now resulting in a freeze on starts, and a grade four for apprenticeships resulting in removal from the provider register and a new "very different" Education Inspection Framework now launched, the stakes could not be higher.

This workshop is a one-off opportunity to hear directly from the most senior apprenticeship HMI at Ofsted as well as the first provider to be inspected under the new framework. Just how have they changed their approach to inspection where there are no qualifications (e.g. standards)? What evidence is Ofsted looking for in terms of at least 20 percent-off the job training? What about apprentices 'confidence' before and after the training, in addition to knowledge, skills and behaviours? What's the inspection approach to subcontracting? How important is governance to inspectors? How is safe-guarding and the prevent duty inspected? What data is used by Ofsted? How do monitoring visits differ from a full inspection? What will change with the introduction of the new Education Inspection Framework from September? All these questions and more will be covered.
